Blumenau

Blumenau was discovered by the German philosopher Herman Bruno Otto Blumenau, who was the first one to arrive in this place in the year of 1850.

He gave his name to city and transformed it in a notable textile center.

Since then, Blumenau has a Germanic architecture with famous buildings such as the Museum of the Colonial Family.

The main attraction in Blumenau is the traditional Oktoberfest, a beer-festival in a German-style. It is the second largest street party in Brazil, after Carnival.

There is a mixture of bars, live music and Chopp (beer).
